ABOUT SHORTHAND
  • What are TextApps?
TextApps are mini-applications within Shorthand that use text messaging to send and receive information. Unlike other apps, Shorthand ’s TextApps don’t use data so you don’t need a data plan to use them!
However, downloading TextApps to your phone the first time will use the data channel. Standard rates will apply.

  • Does Shorthand require a data plan?
Shorthand does not require a data plan. However, downloading TextApps the first time does use the data channel. Standard data charges apply. For details about your plan and data charges, please contact your operator.

  • What is Shorthand?
Shorthand is a powerful, mobile app-platform that uses text messaging to provide a rich, branded, graphic, and interactive experience. Shorthand gives you access to a large base of content and services (we call these “TextApps”) comprising a diverse set of categories including information, entertainment, social networking, retail, food services, banking & payments, etc. from many of the brands you know and trust. There are no short codes to remember and no keywords or commands to enter.

  • How much does Shorthand cost?
Shorthand is free to the user. Since Shorthand uses text messaging to send and receive messages when you access content and services, you may incur standard text messaging charges from your operator. If you have a text messaging plan, such messages will be applied to your text plan. For details about your plan and text messaging charges, please contact your operator.
Certain content and services accessed through the TextApps, such as retail purchases and transactions, paid subscriptions, premium SMS content, etc. will incur their own associated charges from the content and service provider and are not covered by Shorthand.
